Hi All

My dad gave me a brand new Black 7A38-7080 when I was 15. I am now 45 and have just had the watch serviced. It cost a few hundred NZ dollars, but is now running well and I wear it every day. One thing that was beyond repair was the bracelet. Stretched, missing links etc, so I have replaced it with a generic black bracelet. Looks okay but I really want to get hold of an original. Any ideas?

I have the original, maybe someone out there could service it? Thanks in advance for any help.

Your chances of finding a correct replacement p/n B1242S bracelet for your 7A38-7080 are slim to remote, Greg. There was a NOS example listed by UK eBay seller schillachi61 last month. Originally he had it up for an extortionate £139 (typical of this greedy seller), but later re-listed it at a more reasonable £109, for which it sold:

It was purchased by a member of this forum (not myself), but I doubt you'll be able to persuade him to part with it. :/

Probably your best bet is to keep an eye open for a non-running parts watch, like this (but with a better bracelet):
