Some may think it strange, but I don't think I've looked forward to a new incoming's arrival with so much eager anticipation in a long time. It's been a fortnight since I first spotted it on eBay France. It was delivered this morning. My third dial variation of Yema N8YM53 - or more correctly N8 YM5 3. :D Of more anon here presently.

More bling this sunny morning. 8) The postman's just delivered this NOS RACER Orient J39907-50.

More bling. 8) My newest incoming Yema N81W63 - poor man's Breguet Classique rip-off. Supposedly 'NOS' but rather annoyingly typically shop-soiled.

Yema Spationaute III Aragatz this morning.  Another 'NOS' example which arrived earlier in the week. This one now brings my total count of 43mm Yema Spationaute III's to 17 !! :D

So what else could I wear but my original Yema Spationaute III Aragatz 'bitza'.

Wearing my scabby 'beater' stainless 7A38-7000 'El Caracortada' this afternoon. Please excuse the odd bit of lint. I wiped the smeary crystal with a tissue and then couldn't find my dust puffer.

First time out of the box in over two years this afternoon - a rare appearance of a very scarce variant of Seiko 7A38. My two-tone 7A38-706A SAA034J. Still the only example of this model I've seen in nearly 10 years of scouring the 'Net. 8)

I was hoping to be trying on something new today, but it didn't arrive. :( So for want of anything better, I'm wearing my stainless 7A38-7020 SAA009J 'beater'.

Here's one I prepared earlier.* :p

Another slightly better stainless 7A38-7020 SAA009J. :)

*I actually took this photo yesterday (immediately after the previous one). I posted it in response to some silliness in one of the DAILY WRUW threads on SCWF:roll:

This is one of the watches I was hoping would arrive on Friday, but didn't. The postman delivered it yesterday morning while I was out, very thoughtfully leaving the parcel in a 'safe place'. Unfortunately, it absolutely poured down with rain yesterday afternoon and by the time I got home, the parcel was a bit soggy. :( Condensation had leaked through to the contents, so I gently dried them out overnight, before examining them for any water damage. None found. :)

So after giving it a quick wipe over, I fitted a new battery and re-sized the bracelet (removing a couple of adjustment links). First time on the wrist for my newest incoming NOS RACER J39725-70.

I'll write about it in a bit more detail and post some more Q&D photos I've just rattled off in the RACER J39 thread, presently.

It's not like I really needed another stainless 7A38-7020 is it ? :| Trouble is, I can never resist a bargain, or a resto' project in need of some TLC. Serious need in this case.  This arrived from the States in this morning's post. If you saw the eBay listing, then you'll know it's a non runner. But it arrived with the right date showing, so I thought - what the heck ! :P

Belated Edit: That was just a bit of a joke (and to see how just bad it looked on the wrist). What I've actually been wearing most of today is this Puma Y19301-70, fitted with a non-original Junghans bracelet. Replaced its battery this morning, along with a few others in the same collection box.

With the unusually hot weather we’ve been experiencing in England over the last few weeks (a proper summer), it’s not been practical to wear a watch on a leather strap (as all of my Yema Spationaute III’s are). I don’t like getting the straps sweat stained. Thankfully, it’s cooled off a bit and yesterday it finally rained. So today it’s a rather pleasant and balmy morning. Not that I needed any excuse, I dug out an old favourite – nicknamed Grand Bleu for obvious reasons.

The Junghans High Tech Chrono '7A38' is quite a rare beast. Even sightings on eBay Germany are few and far between nowadays. The Junghans model number is 24/4610. I used to wonder about the significance of it - and whether there might be any other variants of it. All I've ever seen is this two-tone model with a rather bland champagne coloured dial (excuse the tiny raindrops).

I haven't actively searched for any more of these for literally years (I have 3 of this model, in varying condition). But I had retained an eBay saved favourite search. This morning, it actually returned something of interest - or so I thought for a brief moment: a Junghans High Tech, model number 24/4611 ! Turns out to be some (presumably Seiko based) ana-digi. So I guess that answers my question.

An old favourite this morning; my 7A38-6000 'Dinky Diver' on non-original vintage Seiko 'Beads of Rice' bracelet - so comfy to wear.

Here’s a Q&D shot of my other 7A38-6000 SAA039J - on the correct original Seiko p/n G1157S bracelet. I had to replace the battery on this one (and a couple of others in the same collection box) this lunchtime, so while it was out ....
