As you've probably gathered by now, I'm not averse to the odd dressy 7A38. Well they don't come much odder, or dressier than the elaborately Louis Quinze styled Yema N81W63
This one's literally got the lot - rip-off Breguet-style fluted case, cabouchon crown, faux guilloché dial, pomme hands, etc. etc. .... Pity this example was so knocked about (before I got it).

What's this John ? We could all do that you know. Here's one of mine from March last year - but note the Day / Date.
But I thought I'd try to set a good example, and take a fresh one, seeing as I'm actually wearing it today. My Yema Spationaute III (38mm reduced version) model # N80A696:

This morning I'm wearing a '7A38' that will almost certainly be joining the ranks of 'my favourite daily beaters' .... My recently acquired Puma Y19301-70, now cleaned up, fitted with a new crystal and currently on a 20mm 'generic' stainless bracelet:
It's almost impossible to capture in a 'head on' photo, but those polished bevel cut hands and batons simply sparkle in the sunlight. Incidentally, the 'Tachy Meter' spacer ring, dial and sub-dial printing is silver, not white, as it may have appeared in the previous photo.

Wow - the sun came out today, and we are talking So, time to see just how good the gold plating looks on my 7A48-7030:
and a nice shot of the crystal, bevelled and slightly domed:
this is one classy watch.

The gold plating on this one may have taken a few knocks over the years, but it is still the undisputed King of 7A38 'BlingMeisters'. Well they don't come much odder, or dressier than the elaborately Louis Quinze styled Yema N81W63 .... Except the 'all gold' version of the N81W63, that is.

Another glorious sunny day in prospect. I think this calls for another suitably blingy Yema N8 - this time the preceding model N81W53.

Perhaps I spoke too soon. Don't know about the rest of you, but where I am, the sun is still struggling to break through the fug. So here's another blingy one, to help it on its way - a Jaz N8YZ63.
The similarity of the Jaz model number to the foregoing Yema #'s is simply due to the fact that they were all made by C.G.H. PS - I promise I'll 'get with the program', and back to the more acceptable face of Seiko 7A38 'aesthetic austerity' tomorrow.

Well, I tried to post this (twice) yesterday, but seeing as I wore it again today I guess its valid, and given it's a 7A28, a 7A28-7030 to be exact this picture works
I had to wait 10 mins or so while I was taking these photos because both footbridges in St. Katherines Docks were raised to let a large boat in from the Thames. When it had come in, a rather newer boat escaped (you can see it above).

Something with a light grey dial, to match the typical colour of the skies on this first day of the long bank holiday weekend. 7A38-7020 SAA010J

In view of the typically miserable weather this bank holiday weekend, I thought it prudent to wear something suitably water resistant. My modded 7A38-7070 (fitted with all-black 7A38-7080 709L dial, etc.):

This one's especially for Steve 'n Julie. Here's my large (not) PVD MILITARY STYLE STUNNING AWESOME freshly serviced (it was) 7A38-6010 beater !!

Here's a slightly larger black chrome coated 7A38 'diver' (though still not exactly huge @ 40mm diameter) - my 7A38-7080 SAA033J

Something a little different this afternoon. Whereas probably not to everyone's tastes, this, unlike that 'orrible gold-plated experimental 7A38-7289 franken (with similar appearing ex-7A38-725A 718L dial) I nailed together a couple weeks ago, is a genuine Seiko factory configuration (apart from the fitment of replacement Sternkreuz crystal). My TiCN 'gunmetal' and gold-plated 7A38-6080 SAA090J

Yema Spationaute III 43mm Aragatz on my 'experimental' Morellato 'Kajak' Gommatex strap. I don't wear it in public like this very often. It's 'a bit'
As is always the case with domed crystals, even in moderate sunlight it's difficult not to pick up reflections - hence the different angles.
