Hello,

third post on the forum to introduce my 7T42-6A00 from 1989 and my Pulsar by Seiko Y182-6A00 from 1990. I'm the original owner of both the watches.

Now the Pulsar.

You're welcome. I love those vintage chronographs and I'm looking for a decent 7A28 that maybe one day will land to my house :)

Reopening this thread with my last arrival (after a month of total stop due to family health issues - which are resolving, thanks God) I had the chance to get my hands on a black and white beauty, which now won't get off my wirst...

Bought as "non-working", it actually was only a bent tooth on the hour wheel which prevented it to turn. All functions now are perfectly working, and apart some scratches on the crystal and on the bracelet, it is in very good conditions. Hope you like it as I do...

A very attractive 'Panda' design too, George. :)

I can remember looking longingly at a those a few years ago, when I was debating whether to start dabbling more in 7T32's.

7T32-7C60 SDW725P if I'm not mistaken.

Hi Paul,

Yes it is the SDW725P1 (or as you put it, without the final "1") I like it a lot actually, and apart from the scratches on the crystal and a small defect on the lower ending link of the bracelet (if you look closely on the image I posted, you can notice a bigger gap to the right of the lower link as opposed to the upper link - the link itself is slightly bent) it is in very good conditions. I will post some more decent pictures as soon as the sun decides to return to Berlin...

BTW: are all Seikos with a white dial and black sub-dials called "Panda"? Isn't this nickname targeting just a specific line of watch models?

"Panda" is a nickname used for all the watches with a white dial and black sub-dials. It's also used for the Rolex Daytona, for example.

'Panda' is just a nick-name used widely by watch aficionados to describe a white dialed chrono' (2-eyed or 3-eyed) with black subdials.

It's also used for the Rolex Daytona, for example.

Except then, it's a 'Paul Newman'. 8) :P

Got it, thanks to both of you. I initially thought it had something to do with a specific series of Seikos....

Here is my 7T32-7F90.

I bought this ages ago from the bay, dead movement, badly scratched and chipped crystal, a broken bracelet and a worn bezel.

I took it apart almost as soon as I got it, the dial, hands and tachy ring were in perfect condition. I cleaned the case, bezel and pushers up, and its stayed in bits since then.

Recently I orderd a new crystal and polished the bezel up (with my dremel) and re-painted the numerals. I 'fixed' the bracelet - its not perfect but its now wearable.

Here's a couple of before pics:

Alan: What a difference some cleaning and a new crystal makes; a nice "summer" 7T32.:)

Are 7T42 allowed here too? Here´s my 7T42-7A10 Titanium; one of my favourite Seiko chronos.

A 7T32 -7A49  from March 1993---I found on the Bay  $ 49.00 free shipping------Dirty but cleaned up to MINT.

Here is what I noticed  when using polish on the gold - it actually came off BLACK  :/   Indicating to me that Seiko plated this watch with real Gold  ?  :/  Probably a thin layer, I can't tell ---the watch and band have NO wear

Yes, they switched from SGP on the 7Axx's to proper 18ct gold plating with the 7Txx's Don - or at least on some models.

There was even a 7T32 with a solid 18ct gold case. I'll see if I can dig up a picture, or full case model number.

Didn't take long. 8) To quote myself from a thread on the RLT watch forum, back in August 2010:

There was a PROPER blingy (limited edition) 7T32 - made in solid 18ct gold, David.

It was the 7T32-6C70 - model SDW162J - and actually quite tasteful and understated ....

Some discussion about it, on the old Network54 SCWF, last October (2009):

A small flea shop near my new office had this inside a vitrine, gathering dust, so I made them an offer "they could not refuse"... and grabbed it. It has some problems, and it was badly reassembled, as the dial bezel is completely misplaced.

A close-up shows the  misplaced dial bezel:

Plus, the date does not change, not even with the quick set. All other functions work, though, even the alarm chime. I will tear it down, clean, check and replacee any defect piecee, and reassemble in the next few days...

This Y182 (7T32) "Italian Chrono", arrived from Germany this morning.

Sorry for the poor image, the dial is hard to photograph due to the very thick domed crystal.

This is a first for me wearing a silicon/rubber bracelet and I am not too keen.

Harold (Yobokies) will be supplying a couple of Anvil bracelets soon, I am sure this will look and wear much better on a quality bracelet.  8)
